Sunila Philips, M.D. Is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Dr.Philips is a graduate of New York Medical College programs – St. Josephs Family Medicine Program and Geriatric Fellowship at Montefeore North Medical Center, NY. She received her Medical degree from Bangalore University, India in 1994 before completing her residency. After residency and Fellowship she practiced Family medicine and Geriatric medicine in various settings including urgent care, community health center, hospitals, VA facility, and nursing homes. She also served in the administrative role as medical director of Yonkers Community Health Center, N.Y. In August 2011 she moved to Plano, Texas, having the opportunity to purchase Medical Associates of Plano from retiring physician.
As an active physician and owner of Medical Associates of Plano, Dr.Philips brings much passion and dedication to serve the needs of her patients. Her key to success is taking time to listen to her patients and giving passionate care. Instead of merely treating patients, she helps them to understand their ailments.
Dr. Philips is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Geriatrics Society. She is a diplomate of AAFP and hold medical licenses in the states of Texas, and New York. Dr. Philips has served the medical profession for over a decade.
She is described as very down-to-earth, with incredible bedside manners that bring a smile on the face of her patients even under stressful circumstances. In her spare time, she is family oriented and spends time traveling or doing charity work with her two sons and husband.
